Technical Delivery Lead

We are looking for a Service Delivery Manager, responsible for the delivery of 2nd/3rd line support of large scale hosted / managed services involving Big Data analytics in a virtualised and later, containerised environment, able to direct support effort covering systems, storage and potentially networking. The role will also involve assisting in implementation of new projects, enhancements and changes to existing projects and services. Experience of managing multiple tasks and project deliverables at the same time under a matrix managed organisation is vital as is the ability to work under pressure.

The role is a key part of part of a 7 by 24 worldwide support operation covering systems in UK and USA so flexibility on working hours is required.

You must be a motivated, client-focused professional with excellent communication and organisation skills and you should have a strong interest in technology. You must be confident in your communication skills and you need to be able to adapt to the various nuances that come with working in multiple regions. Together with the other members of the delivery team, you will need to take ownership, troubleshoot, and resolve direct and indirect client support requests in a timely and professional manner.

Skills & Requirements

  • Understanding and experience of working in secure environments under ISO27001 or equivalent
  • A rounded individual who is passionate about technology with a willingness to learn and work with unfamiliar technologies

Skills

  • Plan and coordinate all scheduled activities with allocated technical resources and deliver in accordance with client agreed plans and timeline
  • Provide Point of Contact service within region for all scheduled activities
  • Champion, enforce, follow, and continually improve service delivery and operational process and procedures for:
    • Resource planning in a matrix managed organisation
    • Activity planning
    • Incident and Change Management
    • Monitoring and Event Management
    • Knowledge Management
    • Continual Service Improvement, process improvement
  • The ability to translate and articulate technical matters into a language suitable for the respective audience
  • The ability to provide constructive staff performance reviews
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective leadership, inter-personal communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good knowledge of techniques for resource planning, activity schedules, tracking and controlling complex tasks, and risk assessment
  • Pro-active in pre-empting issues and problems
  • Takes ownership for resolving issues and problems
  • Consultative and communicative
  • Good team worker
  • Self-sufficient
  • Ability to engage and interact with and motivate technical staff
  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently when under pressure
